Real Madrid vs. Sporting Gijón 2017 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch online

Real Madrid’s focus may be elsewhere, but they can’t look past games like this just yet.

Real Madrid are coming off a nice emotional high from their Champions League triumph at midweek, but now they have to return their focus to more domestic issues as they head out to face Sporting Gijón with their lead in La Liga starting to narrow.

Madrid have a three-point lead on Barcelona with a game in hand, which at this point in the season is not as big a buffer as it sounds, especially with an El Classico tilt between the two sides coming up in just a week. They can’t afford to have their focus slip, even against a relegation-threatened side like Gijón, who would love to put a feather in their cap by taking points off a juggernaut like Madrid at this point of the season.

Sporting Gijón will be without four players — the suspended Burgui, plus the injured trio of Lacina Traore, Douglas Pereira, and Juan Rodriguez. Of course, Real Madrid are dealing with three injured key players of their own, with Gareth Bale, Pepe, and Raphael Varane all nursing injuries, plus Dani Carvajal carrying a suspension, but they have the depth to deal with those absences much better than Gijón do.
