Anderson says he was helping Watson out.

Late last week, former Clemson QB Deshaun Watson was reportedly kicked out of a Tuscaloosa bar.

The bar released a statement saying they didn’t kick Watson out. Video emerged from a different angle showing an interaction between Watson and former Crimson Tide LB Ryan Anderson, making it look like Anderson was the one who was doing the kicking out of Watson.

In a statement delivered to AL.com, Anderson denied he was having a confrontation with Watson.

“It was blown out of proportion. I didn’t ask him to leave,” Anderson said. “I simply made a suggestion. I told him it wasn’t smart for him to be there and if he had finished eating, he should get up out of there. That’s all it was.”

The story goes on to say that Watson and Anderson exchanged texts later that night to smooth things over. Anderson’s publicist said in a statement earlier this week that Anderson was intervening because of hostile customers at the bar.
